As things move more and more to superficiality, depth stands out even more.
Superficiality = surface level
We see it in knowledge, understanding, “the bare minimum”, quick and easy, microwaveable, and the hack.
And the push to quicker, faster, and more distracts us from being focused.
Depth comes from focus. Being able to go deeper often takes more time and intentionality, but the difference between those with a deeper knowledge vs a superficial knowledge of a subject become apparent quite quickly. Just like the value of insights from a deeper knowledge vs a superficial knowledge grow exponentially based on how deep that understanding is.
Inherent to depth is choice, since we can’t go deeper on everything.
